Fred's Frequently Asked Questions

Why are most of your products ready to use?

There are several problems with concentrated cleaning products. First, using tap water generally causes issues such as streaking due to its high mineral content. Second, users tend to use more than is needed, which has the potential to damage surfaces or in the very least, gives unsatisfying results. The size of our products is larger than most others and we offer gallon refills. Fred’s brand products go farther and outperform the competition, allowing you to get more for your money. It’s not about how strong we are but how safe we are.

Are your products REALLY the best out there?

We are so confident that our products are the best that we offer a 100% money back guarantee. Our goal is performance and safety, and our budget is spent on product development, not advertising. We have a proven track record of thousands of loyal customers that repeatedly buy our products and we feel if you try any Fred’s brand product, that you will feel the same way. If you find a comparable product that you feel is better, Fred wants to know about it.

Why are your products in a clear bottle?

We have nothing to hide and the color of the products help the user to indentify what they are using.

Some of your products seem to separate. Why is this?

Because of the properties of some of the natural ingredients, they have to be shaken occasionally. Don’t worry, this does not affect the performance of the product.

Is Fred’s Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish really streak free? Everything else I’ve tried seems to streak.

Yes. First I recommend you remove all other products from the surface by pre-cleaning using Fred’s Citrus Clean and a Fred’s Ultra Plush Microfiber Towel. After that, simply spray and wipe in any direction with Fred’s Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish. General fingerprints and smudges can generally be removed simply using Fred’s Stainless Steel Cleaner and Polish. If greasy situations are encountered, use the same pre-cleaning procedures.

Why have I never heard of Fred’s Fine Cleaning Center Products before?

Again, our budget is spent on product development, not advertising. So after you try our products and love them, make sure to tell your family and friends about us. We will continue to build our brand one customer at a time.

My installer told me I should use vinegar and water to clean my wood floors.

First, vinegar is acidic. Second, a lot of so-called “green” cleaning products use this as a main ingredient and it is not safe on delicate surfaces such as wood, marble, granite, natural stone, and many newer faucet fixtures. Fred believes vinegar should be kept in your salad and should never be used for cleaning.

How is your Soclean Wood Floor Cleaner better than the other national brand?

First of all, our product will work on both laminate and hardwood floors, allowing you to have just one cleaning product. Our product is not an alcohol base so it does not dull or leave any residue. In fact, if you have been using the national brand and have a build up, it will normally remove it from your floor on the very first use, leaving your floors looking fully restored. Remember our guarantee? Give it a try and see for yourself!

I’ve never heard of counter polish. Do I really need to polish my counter tops weekly?

The purpose of weekly counter polish is to protect surfaces from damage caused by spills of various types. Fred recommends treating the counter tops, faucet fixtures, sink basins, and glass shower doors to help protect and make maintenance easier. Surfaces that have been treated will resist corrosion, water spotting, and even damage from acids such as wine, citrus, cosmetics, etc. Safely cleaning your surfaces is important but protecting those surfaces so they stay like new is just as important.

I sealed my stone counter tops. Do I really need to polish them?

Yes, you do. The sealer only protects against some staining and water penetration, but will not protect against corrosion and acidic spills. Using Fred’s Weekly Counter Polish adds a sacrificial barrier to the surface, giving you added protection. Protecting your investment is job #1 for Fred.

Your cleaning products say to keep away from children. Does that mean they’re not safe?

Fred understands that cleaning is meant to keep us healthy and not endanger our family. Our products are safe to be used as directed, around your children and pets. We do not use bleach or ammonia in any of our products for this reason. Common sense is key. Any and all cleaning products should be kept out of reach from children. Even everyday items such as toothpaste are not safe for unsupervised children.
